Director of the Special Food Research Center at China Agricultural University

Dr. Yunbo Luo, Director of the Special Food Research Center at China Agricultural University (CAU), is one of China’s top experts in food science. He currently serves as a professor and member of the Academic Committee of the College of Food Science and Nutritional Engineering of CAU, previously serving as dean for four consecutive terms from 1999 to 2015.
Dr. Luo researches food safety and food nutrition, focusing on food biotechnology, GMO testing and the food safety assessment of GMOs. Dr. Luo is widely acknowledged for his achievements, with over 160 reviews and research articles published. He is the editor-in chief of four food science textbooks and was a member of the Food Safety Expert Panel for the Beijing 2008 Olympics.
Other notable positions include: Vice-Chairman of the Chinese Institute of Food Science and Technology (CIFST); Fellow of the International Academy of Food Science (IUFoST), Vice Chair of the National Center for Agro-GM Food Safety Assessment; Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Chinese Food Science; member of the Consultant Committee for the National Food Safety Commission; member of the Subject Council of the State Council; and member of the China Food Safety 30-People Forum.
