About the Food Safety Knowledge Hub
The Food Safety Knowledge Hub provides important, science-backed information and training materials to advance food safety knowledge in the China food industry and global food supply chains.
The Hub is powered by the Walmart Food Safety Collaboration Center (WFSCC), which was officially launched by Walmart in October 2016 in Beijing. Committed to becoming a leader in China's food safety, the WFSCC actively cooperates with universities, industry associations, enterprises and government, bringing together leading researchers, scholars and innovators from China and around the world to share their experience and expertise to accelerate food safety development in China.
Targeting the food industry in China spanning farm to fork, the Hub is a ‘one-stop shop’ for industry peers and food safety stakeholders to find information on key food safety topics.
While the initial content of the Hub will comprise largely of materials from the expansive WFSCC and Walmart Foundation programs dating back to 2016, the Hub will also feature new materials tailored to the most pressing needs of the food industry in China.
The Hub covers a wide range of critical food safety topics, such as smart supply chain, traceability, reducing foodborne illness, food safety culture and food fraud prevention, while also providing insights, training materials and publications from leading food safety experts.
All posted and linked content comes from reliable and vetted sources in research, academia, government and industry. The WFSCC and the Hub’s Editorial Board composed of food safety experts strive to uphold the highest standards regarding content sourcing, contributors and curation. By helping a greater proportion of food industry stakeholders, the Hub is aligned with the WFSCC’s mission to improve food safety for all Chinese consumers, no matter where they shop.
